Follow Team Rynkeby’s trip to Paris minute by minute

Once again this year, Team Rynkeby will be partnering with Swedish GPS company Axtech AB to live-track the charity cycling team’s trip down through Europe.

When the majority of Team Rynkeby’s 48 local teams take to the saddle on Saturday and set their front wheels towards Paris, you will be able to follow the efforts of the charity cycling team from the comfort of your monitor or smartphone.

That’s because once again this year, Team Rynkeby is partnering with Swedish GPS company Axtech AB to live-track the charity cycling team’s entire trip to Paris.

This will allow everyone to follow the minute-by-minute movements of the 48 teams as they make their way through Europe.

“We have had a good and close cooperation with Axtech for several years. All teams are equipped with a small GPS transmitter in one of the team’s support vehicles, which allows us to show the vehicle’s location on a map on the Team Rynkeby website. This will allow families, friends and other interested parties to keep track of where the 48 teams are located,” says Carl Erik Dalbøge, director of Team Rynkeby Foundation.

Popular technology
The technology, developed for transport companies and other organisations that need to manage large fleets, is a hit among Team Rynkeby’s followers, explains Carl Erik Dalbøge.

“My guess is that it will be one of the most visited pages on our website during the trip. With more than 1,800 cyclists and 450 helpers on this year’s team, there are naturally many relatives and friends who are interested in continuous information about where their loved ones are,” he says.

At Axtech AB, Managing Director Åsa Eklund is pleased that the company can help Team Rynkeby to visually represent a little of the greatness of the charity cycling team.

“It is impressive to see how the 48 dots on the map start roughly simultaneously in very different cities in the Nordic region and how they slowly but surely get closer and closer to each other before uniting in Paris. It is beautiful to think about how each of these many dots on the map symbolises a community that for 10 months has made a great effort for children with critical illnesses,” says Åsa Eklund.

The majority of Team Rynkeby’s 48 local teams will begin the trip to Paris on Saturday, 30 June. All teams will arrive in Paris on 7 July.
