Ea got cancer when she was three years old – now her greatest wish is to join her friends again

Ea was only three when she was overtaken by an extremely rare type of cancer. Four years later, she is still living in complete isolation from the outside world. But in a few weeks’ time, she’ll know whether she is well enough to accompany her twin brother to school.

The cycling trip to Paris resulted in EUR 10.6 million for children with critical illnesses

The charity cycling team Team Rynkeby has raised a total of EUR 10.6 million for children with critical illness over the past year. This is an increase of 12.6% compared to the previous year.

Suomen Team Rynkeby – God Morgon keräsi ennätyssumman syöpään sairastuneiden lasten hyväksi

Hyväntekeväisyyspyöräilyjoukkue Team Rynkeby – God Morgon Finland on ylittänyt ensi kerran historiansa aikana yli miljoonan euron keräyssumman. Vapaaehtoisista koostuva pyöräilyjoukkue lahjoitti kauden aikana keräämänsä 1 107 327 euroa syöpään sairastuneiden lasten ja nuorten hyväksi.

The Team Rynkeby Foundation has now notified the 2,697 applicants who are still in with a chance for a spot on next year’s Team Rynkeby team. Teams will be finally determined at the end of September.

11-year-old fighter Elsa crossed the finish line with her dad

As 11-year-old Elsa Andersson cycled in together with the other participants in Team Rynkeby, she became the youngest participant ever to cross the yellow finish line in Paris. Technically, she is underage to participate, but as she had been given leave from her cancer ward in Sweden to join her dad as he crossed the finish line, an exception was made.

Cycling became Caroline’s therapy after Lucas' battle with cancer

At the end of April 2014, Caroline Magnusson's world turned upside down. Doctors confirmed that the lump in her 3-year-old son Lucas' stomach was a malignant tumour of an unusual type of cancer. Thanks to successful research, Lucas is now in recovery and spends his time just like any other 8-year-old. But his illness has left its mark on Caroline. “Cycling has become my therapy, my way of healing from Lucas' illness,” she says.

Lovisa didn’t stand a chance


It is every parent's worst nightmare to hear that your child has no chance of survival. But this is the reality for children diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), a tumour located in the brain stem. It’s a disease that no child has survived. "We got 10 months with Lovisa before she passed away", says Thomas Rydström, currently cycling towards Paris with TRGM Malmö as a tribute to his daughter.

Hanna survived the cancer – “A maximum dose was my only chance to survive.”

At the age of four, Hanna Falk was diagnosed with leukaemia. Fifteen years later, after spending many hours inside a hospital, she was told she was cancer-free. “I found out afterwards that I came so close to dying,” says Hanna, who is participating with TRGM Linköping for the first time.

The team gave Annica back the joy to live

Annica Liljekvist’s life took an unexpected turn in November of 2017. The lump she had noticed in her breast turned out to be an aggressive type of breast cancer. After going through tough treatments for several months, she was finally done. Only one month after her last treatment, Annica submitted an application to participate in the Team Rynkeby project. “I don't think rest of the team realise how much they mean to me,” she says.
